Corrections & verification log

This site publishes training hours, exam rules and fees that people use to choose a school and plan a licence. Those decisions cost thousands of dollars and months of study. When we get one wrong, the fix belongs in public — with what it said, what it says now, and how long the error stood.

Everything in the first section was live on the site. Errors caught in review before publishing are not listed there; calling those “corrections” would flatter us and tell you nothing. Our corrections policy explains the standard, and this page is the record of it being kept.

Spotted something wrong? Email editor@getmassagelicense.com with the page and, if you have it, the primary source that contradicts us. Corrections are verified against a primary source before we change anything.

None to date. Nothing we have published has yet been found to be wrong — but this site is new, and an empty list here is a fact about its age as much as its accuracy. When there is a correction, it will appear here with the same detail as everything below.

Verification log

Checks of the data we publish, listed whether or not they found an error. A check that finds nothing is not a non-event — it is the only evidence that the checking happens at all.

July 25, 2026Ohio training hours
Re-checked Ohio's required training hours verbatim against Ohio Revised Code §4731.19, because widely-copied aggregator sites list 600 hours.
Result: The aggregators are wrong and our figure is right: the statute requires 750 hours. Anyone planning a course budget on the 600-hour figure would be short by a fifth of their training.
July 25, 2026Washington — a requirement that no longer exists
Checked whether Washington still requires HIV/AIDS education for licensure, a requirement several sources still list.
Result: Repealed, confirmed against WSR 98-05-060, and removed before publication rather than carried forward because other sites carry it.
July 25, 2026Oregon administrative rules
Checked the edition of the Oregon administrative rules our figures were drawn from.
Result: The edition had been superseded. Figures re-derived against the July 2025 edition before publication.
July 25, 2026Missouri late-renewal fee — unresolved
Two official Missouri sources disagree. The codified rule sets the late-renewal fee for the first 1–30 days at $50; the licensing board's own website describes a $100 late fee. Document extraction failed twice and nobody has been able to independently reconcile them.
Result: Unresolved, and disclosed on the Missouri page rather than silently resolved in our favour. We publish the $50 codified figure and tell renewing therapists to confirm the current amount with the board before paying. This is the one figure on the site that is high-confidence rather than verified.

Full re-verification of five states flagged during the build's human-review queue.
Result: All five confirmed against primary sources with no change needed.

Requirements and fees change without notice, and a page that is right today can be wrong next quarter. Always verify with your state board before you enrol or pay anything.
