Continuing Education

24 hours every 2 years.

24 CE hours are required each two-year renewal cycle (license period runs November 1 through October 31 of the following even-numbered year); at least 12 of the 24 hours must be direct hands-on supervised instruction (courses must be at least 70% hands-on to qualify), and the remaining 12 hours may be hands-on or other massage-therapy-related CE. Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. 345-4 does not carve out a separate ethics-specific CE hour requirement for renewal (ethics instruction is instead a one-time 6-hour minimum within the 10-hour Ethics & Business block of the initial 500-hour education curriculum under 345-8, not a recurring CE mandate).

Licensure by Endorsement

Applicants with a current massage therapist license in good standing from another U.S. jurisdiction or foreign country may apply by endorsement (Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. 345-5), submitting official verification of current out-of-state licensure (including a copy of that jurisdiction's licensing laws), a high school diploma/GED or equivalent, proof of U.S. citizenship or permanent residency, and a satisfactory fingerprint background check through the Georgia Crime Information Center and FBI. Applicants must be at least 18. The same $125 application fee applies to endorsement applications as to initial licensure.
